What Your Massage Therapist Wants You To Know
First, always communicate what you pain areas you need worked on to receive a better massage. As well as what style of massage is you think would be most soothing to you.
Be sure to ask for what you think will be most soothing to you. Whether it be a deeply relaxing massage or one that is specifically working out knots and issues.
What it is That You Need From your Massage?
Obviously, this is key to helping your therapist customize your treatment. Surely, before getting on the table, talk to your therapist about your needs. Take an active role in the healing process and you will receive a better massage.
Disrobe to your own comfort.
You do not need to take any clothes off at all. It is ALWAYS completely up to you how much you want to undress. It is Florida law to use proper draping techniques. This means you will be covered except for the appropriate part of the body that is being worked on.
Receive a better massage by Focusing on the sensations.
Surely, you will receive a better massage if you focus on what is going on. Focus on the sensations your body is experiencing. Breath through the tensions. Let your therapist know if anything is painful or numb.

There is No Need to Entertain Your Therapist.
You don’t need to talk through your whole massage to entertain me. Indeed, to get the most from your massage, focus on relaxing your muscles and breathing deeply.
Relax and enjoy your massage
Strategically Schedule.
You will receive a better massage if you schedule some time to rest after your appointment. You will gain so many more benefits if you have time to recover after your massage therapy treatment. By all means, take a rest!
Your Body Makes Sound, and it’s OK
Remember your therapist is a trained health professional. It is truly natural for your body to have reactions like passing gas or belly grumbling. It really isn’t a big deal.
I Don’t Care if You Haven’t Shaved, Have Acne, or Extra Weight
Again, your therapist is a trained health professional and is looking at your body from a medical perspective. All in all, there is no personalized judgement.
Don’t Suffer
Please do not allow yourself to go months or even years before trying massage therapy. It is one of the most affordable and actually pleasurable medical treatments. Massage works amazing on a variety of issues and concerns. Check out my blog on sciatica pain. Find someone you like and work together with them frequently.
